The broad band service of BSNL that proved as the worst on after sales service.

I am an unfortunate person came to take BSNL’s broadband connection through land phone line named Dataone to my residence at Azhikode Exchange. I took connection on their modem purchase scheme, in which I had purchased modem from bsnl paying its rate.

 On the first day of connection, it is found as faulty. The Modem having five green LCD lights that indicate;

1. Power: availablity of Power

2. DSL: connection with the exchange

3. Internet:  Downloading

4. Ethernet: computer connected through Ethernet

5. USB: Computer connected through USB.

 In normal situation, Power, DSL and Ethernet/USB lights glow whenever the system is connected with the modem. If Ethernet light is not glowing there may not have connection with a computer through Ethernet. If USB light is not glowing there may not be a computer connected through USB. If DSL light is not glowing the modem may not have connection with the exchange.

 Here the DSL light closing its eye several times during the browsing and net connection being broken on this times. From the first day itself I dialed 198, the customer service number of  BSNL to fix the problem. No result came. There after dialing 198 became a regular practice of me. One day an officer called me and directed me to bring the modem to Azhikode Exchange. An officer taken the modem from me and verified it with their system. After 10 minutes and told me it have no problem. Then I asked what is the problem with my connection? Hearing it he got angry and shouted “I am not an astrologer to know it! That was a shock to me. Is BSNL finding the fault on their broadband connection with the help of Astrologer? Don’t they have a qualified system technician to  fix such problems?

 I returned back and connected the modem again. But the same problem continues. More over I have noticed a disturbance on my phone whenever the internet is connected. I again dialed 198. But the officer called to my phone regarding the complaint behaved in rough manner to my family. They hesitated to call me on my BSNL mobile know the problem facing by me.

 On the very next day I submitted a complaint in the customer care portal of BSNL  explaining my experience. On the very next day an other officer called my father and gave the personal mobile number of one of its officer and directed to call him. As it is not my duty to call any ones personal mobile at my cost, I hesitated to do so. I submitted an other complaint in the customer care portal explaining the issue and my hesitation to call some ones personal mobile. But no one called me regarding my complaint.

 Yes The officers of BSNL from tail to head are mere white elephants looting public fund. We can not expect proper response from the because they are coming to the company just to draw salary and other benefits from public fund. We the citizens of India, the actual owners of this 100% government owned company must do something to protect our fund. I suggest disinvestment may be the best. Privatisation of BSNL is the only solutions to teach them how to respond on customers service call. 

PROBLEM FIXED

A new technition deputed to look in to the issue and a new modem suppled to check with it. It is found that the problem arises whenever taking connection through USB and dataone connection is very slow on USB. Finally bsnl solved the problem supplyin a ethernet cable.
